I decided just to start over with the speakers. The previous par of towers where big and didn't have the sound I wanted.

I will be building a shelf to house this system once I have more components like players, receivers to replace my old panasonic 6 disk player/receiver. Maybe I'll build a computer too. I have two 4x8" sheets of 3" acoustic foam I'll be using to build absorber/accent panels.

Here's what I started two weeks ago.

The towers are sealed, and they sound better then the hybrids do in my car. They also play very well down into the low frequency range, which I was worried about going sealed with them.

Currently, they are being hit with filler and lots of primer coats. I might wet sand them and finish them with a lighter gray color.

Thanks! They look a lot nicer with 4 coats of primer sanded with 800 grit, ha!

More pics soon.

Way sick!

I like how they pop out at the top, not just a square box. Makes it look good.

What are you using as an amp for this set up?

I'm just using a Panasonic 2 channel reciever/cd player I've had since 2005. I also have an old school 4 channel reciever from the 1970's my father gave me. That hase just been chilling in my basement for some time though.

The current plan is to find a new 5.1, 7.1 amplifier with a sub preout.

I'm also exploring the option of building a computer with the main purpose of gaming, ( EVE online ) and music play back. I've found some bad ass sound cards that have the necessary 2.1 to 7.1 outs I need to amp each tower. In that case, I could run a Dayton APA150 per speaker and use the low level inputs on my Dayton SA240 for the subs.

Finished paint job. Going to start the computer part soon. Already have a motherboard, processor, video card and ram all picked out. The motherboard has more audio and video outputs than I will ever need.

um...I'm not gonna lie, its not my favorite color. Very Happy

Quality looks sick. Does the color go with the rest of your place?

What set up you using for your computer? I've been wanting to build one using this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.610991

It doesn't quite match the room, but it flows pretty well. The back wall is gray, and the rest of the walls are white and light blue. The towers are a seem a bit lighter in the picks than they do in person.

As for the computer, I've got a lists somewhere on my laptop, but all I can remember right now is the MSI 770 motherboard, MSI Radeon HD 5670 Video card, AMD Athlon II 3.3GHz tripple core, and 2x 2gigs of some DDR3 ram.

I really don't know. When the time comes round I might play with things. As I stand though, I'll probably just run plain O'l Linux on my PC.

It is a very good amplifier, its built like a tank, strong, clean, resolved, and natural sounding. A lot better then the 1970's stereo receiver I was using. Which in retrospect I think was very unnatural and harsh sounding. I needed to EQ the low end alot. With the new Audiosource, I don't need to quite as much, and I can leave the bottom end to the pair of Dayton PA255's and Dayton SA240 amplifier.

The only problem that I have, is with the auto switch feature and the two inputs. Input "A" takes priority over "B". So I put my iPod on input "A" and N64, Xbox etc on a switch and input "B". On the mellow parts of some songs, the amp likes to switch over to input B, even if input B has no signal present.

Are you using anything as an EQ?

I'm finally got caught up from the last few weeks, maybe I'll come grab the box this week and listen to it.

I watched the video on parts express, are you plugged into input two for your main signal. The video said number two is the main and number one is the secondary input (sounds weird, go figure).
