This one had me scratching my head for a few days. Limited space- Daily and SPL.

*If all he has is 1.5k watts for now, set subsonic filter to around 20hz

*If he could have gone another 2" deep, I could have done a tapered T-line, that would have been more efficient with the limited power.

*Thoughts or questions?

*onto the design

man i tried like hell to stop you from using those dimentions as they have changed. SORRY the new ones are 18h X 26d X 36w. I did some figurin and came up with sub up port back double baffle with the port along the bottom 103.5sq" of port with a leangth of 25" not sure about the details with response but it tunes it to around 39hz and lets it play down to 30. With the new dimentions then maybe you can come up with something better than i have since i just used my math skills. sorry I didn't mean to waste your time

Its cool Mel! I spend ALOT of time during the night designing box after box just for fun. So at least this is going towards a cause. Also, this isnt the only box I designed, it is just the best performer out of the few Very Happy

Just some thoughts. I'll play with the new measurements. If he can fit a T-line, I'd highly suggest it, as it will give him more efficiency than a vented enclosure with the same power. It will also give him a much wider response than a ported enclosure with SPL to boot. I already tried to design one, but I needed 2" more behind the sub.

I also think sub up/vent up, will have the best response and efficiency unless he gets more power, but only 18" depth for mounting the sub. The cut out only has to be 16.5 across, the top and bottom of the woofer would sit right on the edge. I'll need to read the pdf again. crap

So, like this then, with the fent facing the rear of the truck?

Somthing like this would be awesome if the dimensions work. The port flow would be alot more linear and efficient. With these measurements I could also work between 5 to 5.5^ft after displacements, and tuning between 35-40hz. Let me know!

A transmission line might be out of the question now, as I can't work out anything with enough structural integrity in a convenient form.

that would work but it would make it so the sub and port would be faceing the rear. What would the port dimentions be?

Damn, I'm confused with this vehicle, and the idea of facing anything to the rear of it. The port in that sketch was 7x16.5x 29.5(actual vent lenght). But it would be useless to face it to the back of the cab.

IMO he would have been better off having gone with a piar of 12's or even a 15".

from the floor to the top of the seat is 18h and it's 26" from the seat to the back hatch see what i mean now. In the way you have it drawn everything would be faceing the rear. I will call you now and if i don't get ya i'll try around 2:30

Don't have everything facing the rear. Trucks usually work best with sub and port up, or sub forward port to the side. Even sub forward and port up. Having everything facing the rear won't work well.

I totally agree with this. I was just saying that the way josh had it drawn then everything would be faceing the rear as the top of the box would measure 26X36 not 18X36 as josh had it drawn

yes this is the way the box will fit not sure why but the image didn't load yesterday and i just saw it. So if there is a better design that fits within those dimentions then let's hook it up Very Happy

I wouldnt fire a vent to the rear, even if the woofer was off that axis crap

I'll get digging into this soon, and post my best up.

I really have no idea right now. The only transportation I have right now is my mothers Jeep to and from school or the store.

not sure if you still have it but let's see the t-line design and i'll run it past him in my mind i say add the 2' in depth as i know he has it i just think he wanted to stay below his seats but 1' for some more output is ok with me Very Happy
